Please Pick Up Your Shells and Other Trash from Your Blind Spots

I picked up trash after a bunch of guys two weeks ago at Nisqually only to go back this past Sat to an even bigger mess of shells, candy bar wrappers and drink containers plus they destroyed the natural brush in this spot that makes a great natural blind.

I'd like to see a "Bold Print" Sticky post about policing our shells etc on this waterfowl forum if possible.

Defiantly agreed i went to Snow goose quality hunt site and picked up a bunch of shells out of the middle of the field! come on people have some respect and courtesy

I feel your pain buddy! It's plain and simple to me. Pack it in and pack it out. It's flat out disgusting how rude people can be. Leave it better than you found it.

The reason I asked for a "Sticky" is not for normal members of this forum but for the a$$holes that ruin our hunting spots that might browse this forum.

Most of us are wearing a $ thousand worth of camo out there and to be forced to sit in a multi-colored spot because of all the garbage left just doesn't make any sense at all.

I wonder what has a larger carbon foot print... a days worth of empty shells or the emissions from a big 3/4 ton truck used by one duck hunter for transportation?

I don't think it has anything to do with carbon footprint. Shells laying around everywhere look like crap, and make the non-hunters that use the area believe that hunters just kill the wildlife and throw trash everywhere. Too many people already look at hunting badly... seems like picking up shells is an easy thing to keep them from thinking even worse of us.

   Why should I have to pick up someone else's crap?  Just poor etiquette and laziness not to pick up after yourself and to leave the cover in poor/unuseable condition.

its about time all hunters started worrying more about the environment be it picking up trash or recycling or emissions were going to be the very first to watch it go and out of everyone we will miss it the most.

These slobs are not very smart. Nothing says a  good spot like a bunch of empties all over
A clean blind says this place must suk.
I'm not saying ALL.... But it seems to be younger people trashing it up.

It is important to clean-up after ourselves wherever we are, but I think it is especially important at a place like Nisqually.  You have the bird watchers there and it is so close to all the greeners in Olympia.  The Thurston Co commissioners tried eliminating shooting within 300 yards of the shoreline and they are probably just looking for any excuse to get hunting shut down.  They definitely could use litter as an excuse to try to shut it down.........

cleaning up after yourself is nothing new. many of these SLOBS haven't been around long enough to see what happens because of their actions.
More land is shut down do to litter than anything else.

Ha, opposite for me a couple years ago with a late season winston cow archery tag.  Walked over a can on the way back to the truck, decided to go back and get it, about 30 yards (60 round trip), five minutes or so later had three cows walk across the trail, 80 yards in front of me.           Oh well, I did the right thing.

We do a beach cleanup each spring here on the island, you would not believe how many shotgun hulls wash up out here even though noone duck hunts around this island.  Now, I understand losing them when they hit the water out of your boat, but shells on the ground?  No excuses!
